Tutor House (www.tutorhouse.co.uk), London’s leading private tutoring agency, announced today the launch of its new online tutor-finding platform that safely connects London-based students with qualified private tutors.

The online platform, available on all desktop and mobile devices, has been designed to help students / parents quickly and safely find qualified and well-matched private tutors for all A-Level, GCSE and 13+ subjects without the need of agency mediation, lowering the cost of one-to-one tuition by up to 20%.

Director of Tutor House, Alex Dyer, said; “Tutor House takes the hassle of finding a trusted and reliable private tutor away for parents, students and tutors. We’ve spent 3 years designing our platform with an award-winning digital product agency to help students find trusted and qualified private tutors local to their homes.”

“Students and parents are able to communicate with and select their own tutors before they hire them, which is a shift from the traditional agency model where tutors and students are often matched on availability and location.”

The platform was designed to lower the cost of private tutoring and open up transparency between students and tutors as the demand for private tuition in the UK continues to rise.

Dyer goes on to say; “Our platform has enabled us to reduce the cost of tuition for students as tutors are able to set their own rates. We guide our tutors on their rates based on their teaching experience, but ultimately our tutors decide for themselves.”

All Tutor House tutors are interviewed and DBS-checked before their profile is enabled on the platform, which provides assurance to students and parents that other tutoring platforms aren’t able to.

Rates start from £20 per hour, which is up to 20% lower than the industry average in London, and are capped at £80 per hour. Tutors are charged a commission fee per job, an industry standard, and students pay the tutor directly and securely through the platform.

Students are encouraged to give public feedback to each other once lessons have taken place. Reviews for tutors are then made public on their profiles for other students and parents to read when browsing tutors, giving further reassurance and verification of tutors. Students receive lesson feedback from tutors each lesson, giving them an overview of how the lesson went and what is in store for the next lesson.

Tutors are able to organise their own schedule to fit around their existing teaching jobs.

To join the platform, all tutors must have a valid DBS certificate, a university degree in their teaching subject and must pass a face-to-face interview with the Tutor House tutor recruitment team.

Dyer summarises; “We are dedicating our company to making supplementary education affordable and accessible to as many people as possible. Our platform is a good start for achieving this, but we can always make improvements. We are constantly improving and developing it based on feedback from our tutors and students.”

Tutor House’s online tutoring platform launched on 1st October 2017 offering one-to-one private tuition for London students. The platform currently has over 2,500 hand-picked tutors on its database with profiles for all A-Level, GCSE and 13+ subjects.
